Hamper box making starts early November, a huge task. The number of boxes made are dependant on the number and size of hampers projected for the year.
Hamper prep work
Some hamper items need some preparation to include in hampers. Prep work takes place early to mid November.
We receive many inquires about how to apply for a hamper, delivering hampers, sponsoring and how to volunteer.
Many gifts are wrapped for children 14 and under. Gifts include an age appropriate toy and book as well as piece of knitting (hat, mitts, neck warmer).
Completing hamper applications
All hamper applications are taken by phone in two Hamper Application Call Centres.
School children pack hampers
Grade 4 to 12 school children pack all hampers on an assembly line.
Many organizations donate money, gifts and food.
Volunteers provide turkeys based on hamper size.

The grocery area is always a hub of activity.
Many many hours are required to wrap gifts for children.
Hampers require lots of co-ordination in the office. Hampers are either picked up by the receipient or delivered by volunteers.
Our donations area gladly accepts monetary donations at the warehouse or through many programs.
Information is entered into our system for processing.

If a hamper is unable to be delivered, its returned and we try delivery again.

Over half of the food required for hampers is donated as well as many toys.
