2023 Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering at the admin office/warehouse
We are able to accommodate volunteers who wish to volunteer for full-time or part-time hours in November and December.
A minimum of 4 - four hour shifts are required.
Scheduled shifts are generally four hours during November and December:
9:00am – 1:00pm
1:00pm – 5:00pm
5:00pm – 8:00pm
Youth aged 14 and 15 are encouraged to volunteer alongside an adult who accompanies them and provides supervision. Adolescents 16 and older may volunteer on their own.
Children under 14 may not accompany volunteers on their shifts. Safety is important to our team, and this is a warehouse environment with heavy equipment.
Visit Volunteer Impact to register and view current volunteer opportunities.
Other ways to help
Sponsor a Christmas Hamper - become a part of our Feed-a-Family program. What a great way to celebrate the holiday season with your group. Contact us at (204) 989-5680. We'll assign you a hamper family and provide you with a list of hamper contents, contact the family, build your hamper, and make arrangements to deliver your hamper.
Fundraise - Organize your own special event (for example - birthday/dinner parties, concerts, bake sales, auctions, pancake breakfast, casual days). Encourage friends, relatives or colleagues to donate to the Christmas Cheer Board. Approximately half of hamper contents are purchased and paid for through the generosity of Winnipeggers. Please register your event with us. A Christmas Cheer Board administrator will send you our logo for advertising your event. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call (204) 989-5692 to learn more.
Deliver Christmas hampers - No need to register as a volunteer, drop by 895 Century St between December 8-23. Warehouse hours are 9am-8pm weekdays and 9am-5pm weekends. Learn more about delivering hampers.
Organize a toy drive - Organize donation drop-off locations at your workplace, school, or club.
Family volunteering - Families may wish to make a financial donation, deliver hampers or put together a hamper for a family under the Feed-a-Family program.
